Something Blue by Ostro is a modern love story, with an ancient heritage. It began with an enduring fascination of Ostro blue topaz gems; symbolic of love and friendship, and a desire to create outstanding jewellery for men and women to showcase the beauty of these timeless gems.
For generations Ostro topaz has stood out as the finest blue topaz of its kind, and as connoisseurs of this gemstone, we hand select the most perfect gems for each piece of our jewellery. Each gem has a story, which we trace back to its source, and each gem bears its own certificate of authenticity.

OUR HISTORY
Max Ostro, the man responsible for the legacy of the Ostro topaz collection, began his journey to pursue the most exquisite stones in the 1960’s. This was a journey that took him to the most remote areas of the globe, in search of gems of outstanding beauty.
His prize possession, the 'Ostro stone' a magnificent 9,381cts topaz (the largest of its kind), has been given, on permanent loan, to the Natural History Museum for everyone to enjoy. Max Ostro discovered the flawless blue stone deep in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil in the mid 1980s.
Ostro Minerals is the oldest and most established blue topaz company. In fact, Max named the colours of blue topaz, Swiss Blue, London Blue and Sky Blue - names that are still used across the world today!

For three generations, the Ostro family has been pursuing the most vibrant colours, and the highest quality topaz. When I married an Ostro, I became, quite literally, wedded to the world of topaz, but it is my own love for that most alluring gemstone that led me here.
Each piece I create is inspired by the eternal beauty of these exquisite stones. Infused with a touch of modern flair, Something Blue jewellery embodies tradition with a twist. I am delighted to share this journey with you.
